Testimonials

“Working with Dr. Matthew Perry has been awesome. I saw him because of a right shoulder injury, which limited my range of motion. I could not move freely without pain, and my workouts were hampered, frustrating, and disappointing. But in just a few visits with him, he helped me gain a lot of mobility and strength back in my right shoulder. It sounds small, but being able to put items up on tall shelves without pain was exciting to me. I am back now to doing pushups, bike-riding, shoulder presses, and other activities that rely on shoulder strength. I still have more work ahead of me, but the progress so far has been tremendous and has exceeded my expectations, and I owe Dr. Perry a big debt of gratitude, which is why I chose to write this review.

Some things that really stand out for me are:
1. He really cares about his clients. I’ve never worked with a physical therapist so invested in my well-being and growth.
2. He comes to your home, so you don’t have to go anywhere! The convenience factor has been immense.
3. He adapts his prescribed exercises to what you have in your home (or what is readily accessible to you) and he is very creative! This makes it easy to do all the exercises.
4. Appointments are an hour long, so you have enough time for stretching, massage, mobility, exercises, education, and Q&A.
5. Dr. Perry personally records videos of all the exercises he prescribes and sends them to you, so if you can’t remember what the movement was supposed to look like, you can refer to his videos.
6. In addition to being very professional and knowledgeable, he’s super friendly and personable!

One thing you should keep in mind: You need to be invested in yourself as well. Really take time to consistently do the exercises he prescribes. It might feel time consuming (or even boring) in the moment, but the return on investment is huge. Trust him – he knows what’s he talking about!

Thank you, Dr. Perry!”

“Not only did my muscles grow and my general health improve, but my self confidence skyrocketed… I could always count on him to be a one-man hype squad.”

“I always dread going to the gym, but my workouts with Matthew were the highlights of my weeks every summer. He’s easy to talk to and interesting; the hour-long workout flew by! I was about to play NCAA lacrosse, so I wanted a personal trainer who wouldn’t let me slack off but would also respect a heart condition which precluded me from prolonged strenuous exercise. Matthew did additional research to completely understand my limitations, he pushed me to work harder but never hard enough to be harmful, and he would always check in with me on how I was feeling, always with unwavering confidence in me. He asked me what my goals were from training, and we started with easy exercises and gradually worked to more intense, cumulative workouts. With Matthew, it’s never about the weight or the number of reps you can do; it’s about doing the exercise correctly and setting a good foundation.
Not only did my muscles grow and my general health improve, but my self confidence skyrocketed. The phrase “that’s wrong” is not in Matthew’s vocabulary; it’s always “good, now try this.” His mindset is contagiously positive and I could always count on him to be a one-man hype squad.
Overall, Matthew is patient, motivational, and, above all else, highly knowledgeable. His workouts are always creative, and injury prevention is always his first priority. It was an absolute honor to work with Matthew, and after working with him for 2 months, I felt completely prepared for collegiate athletics and the workouts required. His knowledge and experience is an invaluable asset to anyone who has the privilege to work with him.”

“Matthew has changed the way that I operate my company.”

“I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the help you have given me as a personal trainer. The changes we have been able to effect in such a short time have exceeded my best expectations.

After years of back pain and sciatica including two herniated discs and a bulging disc, followed by three epidural steroid injections over a two year period and then by back surgery and a spinal fusion, I thought at times my athletic years were over. Even excellent physical therapy did not overcome years of bad body mechanics and bad posture habits that my body had fallen into. After my last round of physical therapy I was looking for a personal trainer that could help me overcome these limitations and get back to when I was a regular gym and sports participant. But I knew that would not be easy having had two well regarded personal trainers previously where I did not get the results I was looking for. Then, by chance, I found you and have never been as pleased with a training professional. Our training sessions are fun, educational and we train hard without straining. I attribute this to your background in physical therapy and your ability to genuinely listen to what your client is saying, taking note and implementing that while watching them carefully so that the exercise is enough but not too much. I have never experienced back pain after working with you and in fact have seen a slight recurring twinge of pain I had in my lower back go away after one of our back strengthening sessions.

As a business owner and professional myself, I know the value of delivering for my clients and you are simply in a class above others in your field. I would be very happy to be a reference for you and answer questions from anyone considering engaging you as a trainer. I look forward to many more sessions working together.

Best of luck,”
